The Polymers Center Adds Microex Cast and Blown Machines to Extrusion Lab

The Polymers Center is excited about the addition of a Microex Cast and a Microex Blown machine to our Extrusion Lab. Syncro’s Microex Cast and Microex Blown are part of a compact line of pilot lab technology designed to aid in the quality control of polymer materials, with low material consumption and less waste.

The films produced with the Microex Cast machine can be used for mechanical properties testing, visual evaluation, assessment of processability, and for color matching of polymers, compounds, masterbatches and recycled materials.

The Microex Blown machine can create samples of tubular film with extremely small dimensions. Equipped with a single screw extruder of 17.5 mm, it is designed for evaluating recycled materials, color masterbatches, additives and bio-polymers.

The Polymers Center team is in the process of setting up these two new machines. Contact us to learn more about running trials using this new technology.
