Technical Training For NC Manufacturing Companies By NCEdge And The Polymers Center

Amy Epley, Regional Director at NCEdge and a group of 12 Training Directors from North Carolina’s community colleges joined 14 representatives from various plastics-related companies at The Polymers Center for an industrial training forum. The purpose of the meeting was to introduce the group to The Polymers Center and the opportunities available through the non-profit organization.

After a brief presentation by Phil Shoemaker, Executive Director of The Polymers Center, all attendees were taken on tour of the facility and presented with the center’s capabilities in the polymers sector, including training, materials testing, injection molding, extrusion and compounding.

NCEdge, a part of the NC Community College System is a state-sponsored program that provides technical training in production or production support to North Carolina manufacturing businesses. Courses are customized to meet the specific needs of a company.
